Abstract
In article the methodology of the Grounded theоry as form of qualitative research in sociology is applied to studying of representations about interethnic and interstate relations among youth of St.-Petersburg. The author makes a number of conclusions about continuity and ruptures in perception of international relations in the past and the present, in particular, about infl uence of the Soviet tradition of “friendship of the peoples” and absence at youth of an integral image of the “West”.
